Motorola's Razr 70 series flip foldables have received a less-than-enthusiastic response from consumers, with a recent poll revealing that the majority of voters believe the devices are overpriced and in need of more updates. The Razr 70 Ultra, the most expensive model, received the highest number of votes, but even so, it was deemed too costly at $1,500. The phone's use of older hardware and limited software support further contributes to its perceived obsolescence.
The Razr 70+ and Razr 70, which build on the 2024 hardware, are also seen as overpriced at $1,100 and $800 respectively. These prices are significantly higher than what can be achieved with older models, such as the Razr Ultra 2025, which is still available for $800. The Razr 60 Ultra is even cheaper, at €650, highlighting the lack of competitive pricing in the new series.
Motorola's pricing strategy is seen as a major issue, with the company undercutting its own offerings. This, coupled with the limited software support policy, has led to a perception that Moto phones have a short shelf life. The poll results suggest that consumers are not willing to pay a premium for these devices, and Motorola may need to reconsider its pricing and software update policies to remain competitive in the market.
